The Gospel According to Panda Bears

This morning on the news I heard a story of a 4-year-old little boy who was watching a documentary on pandas with his father and at some point, the mother panda left the baby panda, and the father says, “now the baby panda is homeless”. His son turned to him and said, “what does homeless mean?” His father replied “that means the baby panda has no home to live in.” The little boy then asked, “can people be homeless?”, and his dad said “yes”.

At the age of four this baby comes to his parents and says, I don’t want any toys for my birthday or for Christmas instead I want to use that money to buy sandwiches for the homeless and for the last 4 years this baby has been feeding homeless people chicken sandwiches, giving them handshakes and saying, “don’t forget to be kind”.

In a world full of hatred, it is nothing but the hand of God that moves this now 8-year-old boy to use his allowance, birthday money and the money for his Christmas gifts to feed the homeless. Now, that is having empathy, kindness, and compassion but what I saw was LOVE.
